This article by one of my favorite current writers, Christopher Hitchens, is a pretty stunning read. It is of a different tone than any of Hitchens' work, and it will become obvious why.

Hitchens is a hard-drinking, heavy smoking British intellectual who has taken residence in this country. He raised more than a few eyebrows amongst his many fans and foes when he supported the Iraq invasion. His writing is generally incendiary, sort of in the Mencken mold.
